Embracing Nature

Nestled in the midst of lush greenery, the European School of Trieste offers its students a tranquil sanctuary, far removed from the bustling city. Here, they have plenty of room to both study and unwind.

The classrooms

A conducive learning environment stands as a pivotal element for academic triumph. It represents not only a physical space for educational and formative experiences but also a nurturing ground where teachers and students forge relationships that foster the realisation of each child’s full potential.

Our diverse classroom spaces cater to various teaching styles and activities, fostering open communication and inclusivity.

In addition to their spaciousness, our classrooms are designed to be flooded with natural light, offering an ideal setting for the number of students they accommodate. The layout of our educational facilities encourages active teacher engagement in the learning process, enabling them to freely move about the room and promptly address any challenges that may arise. Furthermore, our learning environment embodies inclusivity and is free from prejudice, preparing students to confidently and resiliently navigate life’s complexities.

Our ICT Lab is equipped with over twenty computer workstations and a digital whiteboard, thoughtfully arranged to maximise students’ dedicated learning time for digital literacy.

What’s more, the two hours of computer science instruction are conducted by a native English-speaking teacher, offering an added dimension to enhance proficiency in the English language.

The Kids' Library

The Kids' Library

A brainchild of our dedicated teachers, the Kids’ Library aims to instil a love for reading among children. Here, students take charge of a genuine and ever-growing “little big library,” complete with a book catalogue and a loan register, fostering a sense of ownership and a passion for books.

At our school, the motto “Togetherness” is not just a word; it’s one of our core educational goals. Nowhere is this more evident than in our dining hall, where communal meals are shared. These meals follow a menu meticulously crafted by nutritionists, aligning with dietary guidelines to ensure our students’ well-being. Moreover, all the food is prepared on-site, guaranteeing quality and freshness.

The school’s walls serve as a vast canvas, adorned with messages, quotes, and distinctive elements that celebrate our city, creating an inspiring and unique atmosphere.

The Hill

Our school’s headquarters, Villa Geiringer, is a majestic 19th-century castle perched atop Colle di Scorcola, providing breathtaking vistas of Trieste. The premises feature expansive green outdoor spaces alongside modern playground facilities.

These well-equipped areas play an integral role in upholding one of the fundamental rights of children: the right to play and leisure. This extends beyond the opportunity to live in a healthy environment; it underscores the importance of granting children the freedom to engage in one of the most critical activities for their growth and development—play, tailored to their preferences and enjoyed without constraints.
